Fans share who they would hire to replace Marco Silva if sacked

Silva has overseen 52 fixtures across all competitions since he was appointed as Sam Allardyce’s successor in May 2018, but has only taken 22 wins from those and is now without a Premier League victory to his name from the Blues’ last three games (TransferMarkt).

The Merseyside outfit’s defeat at AFC Bournemouth prior to home losses against Sheffield United and Manchester City also meant that Everton have only won five Premier League games on the road with Silva in charge, having played 22 away from Goodison Park since his arrival.

Everton’s previously supreme home form has started to waver with the Blades’ and Citizens’ triumphs, too, having made Goodison Park a fortress this year with victories over Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United immediately following a goalless draw with Liverpool.

Some Toffees supporters are starting to feel like enough is enough, though, with many taking to social media to share who they would like to see Director of Football Marcel Brands appoint if Silva were to be relieved of his duties.

A prominent name called for was former Liverpool and Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez, who is currently in charge of Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang on a £12m-a-year contract (Independent).

Since his arrival in China, Benitez has overseen six wins in 12 games, following a 1.48 points-per-game average at St. James’ Park after securing 62 wins in 146 fixtures with the Magpies across all competitions.

Other managers certain Blues supporters would be keen to hire include Bournemouth’s Eddie Howe – who has been with the Cherries since 2012 – Leeds United’s Marcelo Bielsa, or a return to Goodison Park for current Manchester City assistant Mikel Arteta.
