UK water treatment engineering group Ross-shire Engineering (RSE) has acquired a majority stake in Bristol-based motor control centre manufacturer GPS.
RSE, which has offices around the country including in Inverness, Glasgow, Leeds, Nottingham and Bath, did not disclose the size of its investment.
It said the deal would “further bolster” its power distribution and controls systems portfolio, which includes Blackburn Starling, TCS, Saftronics and DPS Group. It also said the acquisition expanded its “technical skills and resources”, with 50 staff now based in the South West and southern Wales.
The move is expected to support increasing demand for RSE’s modular water treatment solutions in England, as well as enhance service offerings to existing customers, the firm added.

GPS, based on Albert Road in Bristol, is an end-to-end manufacturer and systems integrator, producing motor control centres and low voltage switchgear.
