Prince William had a lot of attention from girls when he was at university but found love with Kate Middleton and the pair have been married almost 11 years
Royal fans have swooned over several moments of PDA by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on their Caribbean tour.
The couple has been married for almost 11 years and royal wellwishers have been delighted with their hand-holding and dancing together.
They have known each other since they were at university together and with Prince William a future king, he reportedly had no shortage of attention from girls.
And when he settled down with Kate, many thought she was one very lucky lady.
But when one of the now-Duchess’s friends put this point to her, she reportedly had a brilliant response.
During their university days at St Andrews, a friend told Kate how lucky she was to be going out with William.
And according to Claudia Joseph, author of Kate Middleton: Princess in Waiting, Smiling, Kate simply replied: “He’s lucky to have me.”
Today marks the last day of William and Kate’s Caribbean tour and they have several engagements lined up in the Bahamas before they fly home.
When they arrive home, they will be reunited with their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
The youngsters have been tracking their parent’s progress on the tour – and it appears George is in charge of it.
William explained that George has been sticking pins in a world map of each of the destinations his parents have visited and then sharing the information with both Charlotte and Louis.
He said: “We let them know where we are and he finds us on the map and puts a pin in it and shares with the others.”
They’ll also be reunited with their kids on Mother’s Day – and no doubt the little ones will want to show Kate their appreciation. So will she be in line for a lovely present? Or maybe a cake like last year?
Last Mother’s Day, Louis, George and Charlotte created the delicious treat in honour of both Kate and her mum Carole Middleton.
A heartwarming post on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s Twitter page showed a picture of what appeared to be a Victoria Sponge next to a snap of Kate holding her mum’s hand as a child.
The photograph of the cake, which was adorned in hearts, was also shared on the Kensington Royal Instagram page.
In their social media posts, the couple said: “Celebrating two other special mothers today. Made by George, Charlotte and Louis.”
