As a result of a recent global study, the United Kingdom has emerged as the nation with the most liberal divorce and abortion laws globally, surpassing Canada, Germany, and Australia.
According to the World Values Survey, Britons have moved towards accepting casual sex, prostitution, and homosexuality over the past five years. This represents a change from saying that these practices were acceptable earlier.
According to King’s College London’s Policy Institute, approximately half of the world’s population resides in 24 countries across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas.
The UK ranked at the top among the four nations considering casual sex, euthanasia, divorce, abortion, and suicide. According to a survey, Swedes have emerged as the most liberal regarding abortion, divorce, and suicide, while the French think euthanasia is a good idea, and Germans agree.
For a large segment of the general public, sexuality, divorce, and casual sex have become simple facts of life, according to Prof Bobby Duffy, director of the Policy Institute.
According to him, the phenomenon isn’t just caused by the younger generation replacing the older generation, and every age has significantly influenced how they view things.”
According to Duffy, British excitement over the death penalty has waned recently due to a lack of executions. Despite this, the issue remains closely linked to political identities, with Conservative voters [67%] supporting capital punishment more strongly than Labour voters [47%], explaining why the issue is still brought up in politics”.
