ACCUSED Who was Fotis Dulos?

A

JENNIFER Dulos made headlines in 2019 after she went missing during a custody battle.

Almost one year later, her husband, Fotis Dulos, was charged with murder and kidnapping in relation to her disappearance, charges which were dropped in March 2020.

Who was Fotis Dulos?

Born August 6, 1967, in Turkey, Dulos was known as a real estate developer and the founder of Fore Group Inc., a company that built luxury homes in Farmington, Connecticut.

Outside of his occupation, he was famously known as the estranged husband of Jennifer and is believed to have played a role in her disappearance and death.

In January 2020, Dulos was charged with capital murder, murder, and kidnapping in relation to Jennifer’s case and had pleaded not guilty prior to his tragic death just a few weeks later.

On January 30, it was announced that Dulos had passed away in a New York City hospital after he attempted suicide at his home.

“It’s been a truly horrific day for the family filled with difficult decisions, medical tests and meeting the requirements to determine death,” Dulos’ attorney Norm Pattis said at the time.

“Having said that, we want to thank everybody for their interest. And as to those who contend that Mr. Dulos’ death reflects a consciousness of guilt, we say no,” he continued. “We say it was more of a conscience overworn with the weight of the world that was too busy to listen and that wanted a story more than it wanted the truth.”

Prior to his death, Dulos had been placed on house arrest after posting $6million bond.

Has Jennifer’s body been found?

It has been two years since Jennifer’s case first gained media attention and police have had no luck finding what authorities believe will be her remains based on blood spatter found at her residence.

On December 20, 2021, a new K9 search was underway for the missing mom-of-five at Waveny Park in New Canaan near where Jennifer’s SUV was found early in the investigation.

Investigators reportedly re-searched the area to follow up on “previous investigative information” regarding the homicide case, police told NBC Connecticut.

“This is being done out of an abundance of caution to explore every avenue related to the case,” the police said in a statement. “These follow-ups are standard procedure as our detectives thoroughly investigate any and all leads.”

At this time, it remains unclear what information authorites were following up on or if they discovered anything in the search.

Do Fotis and Jennifer have any children?

Throughout the course of their marriage, the former couple welcomed five children together, who ranged between the ages of 8 and 13 at the time of Jennifer’s disappearance.

At this time, details surrounding the children’s names and ages remain unclear.

Following Jennifer’s disappearance, her mother, Gloria Farber, was given custody, revealing that they are “becoming more like their mother every day,” in a May 2020 statement.

Prior to Dulos’ passing, his children were reportedly able to visit him in the hospital before doctor’s took him off life support.
