Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania –modok ant-man three leaks by Official Merchandise

A

Ant-Man 3 or Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is an upcoming MCU Phase 45 film based featuring the characters Scott Lang / Ant-Man, Hope Van Dyne / Wasp, Hank Pym, and Janet. The film will direct by Peyton Reed and will be the 31st movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the very first film in Phase 5. It is currently in its post-production phase and will be the first Marvel film to debut in 2023. Quantumania will proceed with the story of Kang the Conqueror, introduced in Disney Plus’ Loki, and set up the next big saga of MCU, The Multiverse Saga, and Secret Wars. Before we move forward, be warned that some minor spoilers to the film (courtesy of Reddit) follow below, so proceed at your own risk!

Although Kang will be the main villain of the film and the prime antagonist of MCU Phase 5 and 6, Ant-Man 3 will see the return of one central character. Do you remember Yellowjacket, Darren Cross, played by Corey Stoll from Ant-Man (2015)? He survived the events of Ant-Man and has now joined hands with Kang as he wants revenge against Scott and Pym. As revealed by leaks, he will be playing the much-anticipated character of MODOK in Quantumania.

MODOK describes a Mechanized Organism Designed Only for Killing. He will be the second in command of the forces of Kang the Conqueror, and he will have a more significant role in the film than Kang, as Kang might save as the final boss. Also, if plot leaks are something to go by, he will surely make things quite difficult for our heroes. Unfortunately, his first leaked look didn’t showcase much of him and is restricted to a big close-up revealing a reddish-purple color scheme with golden bits. But today, we have a much better look at him which you can check out in the feature image and the image below!

As you can see above, the official Funko POP figurines from Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania reveal the first look of MODOK. You can see that the MCU version of MODOK has some major changes from the comics. The most significant change you can notice is his golden faceplate, which hints at him being completely mechanical. Still, it is also possible that it’s a mask designed to conceal the man underneath until release. But we know it will be Corey Stall, thanks to all the hype. It is common knowledge right now, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone.

We know that Kang the Conqueror will be front and center as the villain of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Still, the word is that the film will introduce MCU fans to giant floating heads of the Mechanized Organism Designed Only for Slaying, a.k.a. MODOK. We have yet to get an official look at him in the film, but a leaked trailer may have given us a peek.
This lines up with the rumors that this version of MODOK will be a robot with a metallic face, but the mask may reveal a giant face like the one from the comics.

Rumor has it that MODOK will be Darren Cross, the villain from the first Ant-Man, and it’s going to reveal that he has become a giant head with tiny arms and legs—kind of a fitting origin MCU-wise.
We don’t know when Marvel will give us our first look at Quantumania, but rumors are going around that it will be sometime this month. With Marvel Studios currently gearing up for the release of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, it could be fitting to drop a teaser for Ant-Man during all this Black Panther press to help boost hype for the MCU and any incoming projects.
