CHEAP SHOT Asda’s new budget Essentials range hits stores TODAY – here’s what you can get

THE first of Asda’s “Just Essentials” range arrived on shop shelves and online TODAY.

Eventually the full range will be stocked in all 581 of the supermarket’s budget stores, but shoppers can start to get a taste as some of the products are ready to buy NOW.

60 products line the shelves this week as well as being readily available online.

Everything from fresh meat, fish and poultry, and bakery goods, to all kinds of cupboard staples, are being offered by Asda at a rock bottom price in the range.

The supermarket giant explained that this month shoppers can get their hands on fishcakes, salmon portions and braising steak in store.

Meanwhile, The Sun has already spotted treats like scones and pizzas, plus ready-meals like macaroni cheese and fish pie, lined up ready to add to your basket online.

Prices start from as little as 32p.

But when the full range is completely rolled out in stores, it will be made up of a total 293 products.

That’s double the amount of discount offerings than the supermarket’s previous budget range, Asda Smart Price.

Asda had promised earlier in the year to axe its value range and replace it with a new line, as the cost-of-living crisis continues.
