Digger stuck in Bridport harbour

D

The driver of a digger had to flee his vehicle after it became stuck in a Dorset harbour.

Attempts to free the dredger in West Bay, Bridport, using other machines and chains were abandoned after the tide rose on Friday evening.

The digger’s owner Axminster Excavators said it was awaiting a low tide to winch the digger from the water.

The harbour entrance is dredged annually in March to maintain an adequate depth.
