A group that specialises in services for the commercial electric vehicle market has launched a recruitment drive in Newcastle.
Ideanomics Digital, which is part of the NASDAQ-listed Ideanomics group of companies, says it looking to appoint 25 tech staff to its Newcastle headquarters. The firm provides services such as financing and energy management to commercial fleet operators and says its mission is to help accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles.
The North East-based division provides IT and technology innovation for the Ideanomics businesses, which include wireless charging specialist Wave; electric tractor maker Solectrac, and performance motorbike brand Energica. Over the next nine months, the Newcastle office will appoint 25 tech roles including software developers at all levels, testers, business analysts, IT managers and IT technicians.
The company’s director of software development Mark Thompson said: “The technology here is as exciting as it comes; real artificial intelligence and machine learning, we’re talking about cutting edge technologies. We know that tech talent in the North East is of a very high standard and can rise to the challenge.”
He added: “I would encourage anyone who wants to work at the forefront of technological innovation to get in touch with us. This is a staggering opportunity.”
Ideanomics Digital is a member of the tech network Dynamo North East and is also working with Sunderland Software City. It is aiming to attract people tech career starters as well as more experienced developers looking for new opportunities.
