Career
Eric rose to fame after joining the Bay City Rollers in 1972. He then joined the Rollers band until the late 1980s. Eric co-wrote most of the recorded catalog of Rollers’ songs like Money Honey and Love Me Like I Love You. He then worked as a lead vocalist for the reformed version of the Bay City Roller which also featured Alan Longmuir, Stuart Wood and Karen Prosser.
From there, he also toured with his own solo band that he was able to establish with Kass. In 2006, he led a tribute to the late Syd Barrett by singing some of his greatest hits. However, in 2015 Eric almost died after contracting viral encephalitis. Since then he has never played in public because of the post-encephalitic syndrome. Fortunately, he continues to recover and he has been writing and recording new music since 2017.
