Gordon Ramsay’s BBC game show Bank Balance has been cancelled after just one series.

The famously foul-mouthed restaurateur had hosted the series for 10 episodes, which aired in February and March of this year.

In Bank Balance, contestants vied in pairs to win cash prizes up to £100,000 by answering questions and stacking gold bars on an unsteady balance board.

The BBC has now confirmed to multiple outlets that there are no plans for Bank Balance to continue in the future.

Fans of Ramsay were amused when the series first aired, as the chef took just 45 seconds to drop his first expletive.

However, the format of the series was criticised by some viewers, with several people disparagingly comparing it to the fictional game show “Bamboozle”, from the sitcom Friends.

In Friends, “Bamboozle” is a quiz show hosted by Joey Tribiani (Matt LeBlanc) which has seemingly nonsensical rules.

“Errrr what the hell is Gordon Ramsay’s Bank Balance all about?” wrote one viewer. “Is it Bamboozle?”

Reports suggest that Ramsay will attempt to bring the series to the US in a deal with Fox, despite its discontinuation by the BBC.
