Ingham first joined the Group in 1987 at the age of 25 consultant in the marketing and sales department of the company.
He was appointed to the council in 2001 and now CEO since 2006, during which time he has expanded the company’s operations to Mexico, Brazil, South Africa, China and Canada.
Since 2006, sales have more than doubled to £ 1.6 billion and gross profit has grown by 152% to £ 878 million.
Ingam became a wheelchair user in 2019 after a ski accident. Since then, he has advocated for more inclusive people with disabilities in the workforce and advocated for mandatory requirements for firms to report on their disability strategies.
Today he said: “I have had the honor of leading the Group for the last 16 years and I am very proud of all that we have achieved together.”
At the beginning of trading, shares ofGroup fell by 1.2%.
The news of his departure came after the company received gross margins of more than £ 100 million in March, a record month for business, led by a 60 per cent growth in its US division in the first quarter of 2022.
“We held another record quarter for the group with record figures in 19 countries,” Ingham said.
Gross profit in the first quarter rose 43% to £ 258.5 million.
The Group was founded in London in 1976 by Bill McGregor and Michael Page, and is listed on the London Stock Exchange in March 2001. The company now employs more than 7,500 people in 37 countries.
