KIDS can get a new free toy with their burger this month after McDonald’s updated its Happy Meal theme.

The fast food chain is famous for it’s miniature-sized Maccies boxes which include a child’s meal and a toy.

The toys on offer at McDonald’s change regularly, so children can enjoy a different treat each time they visit.

At the moment, you can get a Sonic the Hedgehog themed Happy Meal to celebrate the release of the character’s new film.

You can pick up a McDonald’s Happy Meal for around £2.59, depending on where you are, and if you order in branch or for delivery.

Food-wise you can choose from a hamburger, cheese burger, fish fingers, veggie dippers, or four McNuggets.

Children can currently get Sonic the Hedgehog themed toys in their Happy Meals.

They can choose between a toy or an activity book when they order their meal.

There are 12 paper toys to choose from, including a cardboard maze.

The box will feature a QR code which will unlock a Sonic the Hedgehog game when scanned with a phone or tablet.

You can also download activity sheets including a maze, dot to dot, word search and colouring in sheet.

The toys will be available until May 17th.

McDonald’s has not yet revealed it’s next line-up for Happy Meal boxes after the Sonic the Hedgehog toys end.

Last month you could get a Dreamworks Happy Meal, including characters from the Madagascar film or Shrek.

Book worms were pleased with the Happy Meal treat in March, as McDonald’s gave out free book tokens for World Book Day.

Previous promotions have seen Maccies fans get a Mr Men or Little toy in their Happy Meal box.
