Jurassic Coast walker rescued after Ringstead Bay path fall

A walker has been rescued after he fell down a section of remote cliff path on Dorset’s Jurassic coast.

Ambulance crews began a search for the man around Ringstead Bay near Weymouth after being called out shortly after 09:00 BST.

A coastguard helicopter was called when the man was found in an inaccessible location after 30 minutes.

He was flown by helicopter to Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester where he was treated for a fractured leg.
