Law firm WSP appoints six new directors in succession project

L

A historic Gloucestershire law firm has appointed six new directors as part of plans to transition ownership of the business into new hands by 2026. WSP Solicitors, which has offices in Stroud, Dursley and Gloucester, has been offering legal advice in the region for more than 250 years.

The succession plan was formulated by the firm’s current managing director, Judi Bonham, and its commercial director, Peter Mardon.

The investors include current WSP directors Amy Leivers (head of commercial property); Kirstie Carr (head of private client); and Lucy McCallum (head of residential property). Joining the team are Camella Cephas (associate solicitor, childcare); Robert Selwood (deputy head of private client); and Silas Miller (marketing manager).

Ms Bonham said despite offers from other law firms, the business preferred “continuity” – and had assembled a team it felt would be “perfect” to take WSP into the future.

“Each member of the new team brings their own energy, knowledge and experience to the table and we are confident they will continue to grow WSP Solicitors as a leading provider of legal services in the county in the best interests of our clients.”

The succession project will run over the next four years as the six new invested directors take on greater responsibilities in the business and the local community.

WSP Solicitors, which is supporting the GloucestershireLive Business Awards 2022, provides various legal services including residential and commercial conveyancing; wills, trusts and probate; children and family law; matrimonial; personal injury; buying and selling businesses, commercial contracts; and dispute resolution.
