THE British and Irish Lions have hammered the Sigma Lions in their opening tour match.
Louis Rees-Zammit and Hamish Watson ran in early tries as Warren Gatland’s side made a fast start and never looked back.
Ali Price then scored a third with a brilliant solo effort before Vincent Tshituka scored for the hosts.
But it was Josh Adams who stole the show, scoring early in the second half before Rabs Makwane replied instantly for the South Africans.
However, Adams then added a second try before Gareth Davies crossed the line.
And Adams then scored a late a third and fourth try late on as Gatland’s men laid down a marker.

That’s all from us today as the British and Irish Lions put EIGHT tries past their namesakes the Sigma Lions to triumph 56-14 in Johannesburg.
Welsh winger Josh Adams scored FOUR tries of his own, with Louis Rees-Zammit, Hamish Watson, Ali Price and Gareth Davies also crossing for the tourists.
Vincent Tshituka and Rabz Maxwane scored consolation tries for the hosts either side of half time but in truth were no match for Warren Gatland’s side tonight.
Hamish Watson in particular was outstanding and staked a real claim for the number seven shirt for the first test against South Africa on July 24.
Next up for the Lions is a clash against the Sharks on Wednesday in what is their second of five warm-up games before the three-test series against the Springboks.
We’ll be covering all of those games live, but that’s all from us for now.
