NOT LILY-LIVERED Lily James ‘called Dominic West’s wife on Monday night to insist pictures of them were innocent’ claims new report

LILY James called Dominic West’s wife Catherine on Monday night to insist the pictures of them kissing were innocent, a new report has claimed.

The actress, 31,was seen enjoying a Rome getaway with her married co-star, 50 over the weekend – with snaps showing the pair sharing a smooch, enjoying an intimate ride on an electric scooter together and Dominic patting Lily’s bottom.

At the time, it was reported that Catherine had been left “devastated and heartbroken” – with it confirmed that she and Dominic were still together having married in 2010.

Yesterday, the couple put on a loved-up display outside of their family home where they insisted that they had a “strong marriage”, with Catherine even kissing her husband before giving out a handwritten note that asserted they were still happy together.

MailOnline have now said “there is speculation” that Lily could have called Catherine on Monday night to innocently explain away the photos.

It has also been claimed that Angharad Wood’s presence in some of the photos, who is both Lily and Dominic’s agent, offered reassurance to his wife.

A source told the publication: “The fact that Angharad was there will have been very reassuring to Catherine as the two women are good friends.

“Angharad would not have stood for anything going on and he would certainly not be so stupid as to do anything in front of her. Dom has a bit of history with women from some time ago, but he’s much too clever to get caught out this way.”

Despite Dominic and Catherine’s united front, it has been reported that she is “privately fuming” with her husband – but plans to battle it behind closed doors for the sake of her family.

The pair are mum and dad to 13-year-old Dora, 12-year-old Senan, 11-year-old Francis, and seven-year-old Christabel.
