Fisher-Price is recalling the glider after reports of four infant deaths associated with a similar product sold in North America. In these cases, the infants were reportedly placed on their backs unrestrained in the product and later found on their stomachs.
There have been no reports of serious injuries or deaths in the 2-in-1 Soothe ‘n Play Gliders, but Fisher-Price is asking all customers to stop using the product immediately and arrange a return.
Which Fisher-Price products have been recalled?
Fisher-Price has recalled the following two models:
- Fisher-Price 2-in-1 Soothe ‘n Play Glider – Falling Leaves, product number FYY21
- Fisher-Price 2-in-1 Soothe ‘n Play Glider – Woodland Wonders, product number HBD64
These products were previously stocked at Argos, Amazon and Smyths Toys. You can check the product number on the underside of the base.
What should I do if I own a Fisher-Price 2-in-1 Soothe ‘n Play Glider?
If you own this product, you should stop using it immediately and return it to Fisher-price for a full refund.
Only certain parts of the rocker (the seat pad and seat back) need to be returned. Fisher-Price says that it will send a mailing bag within 14 days, along with detailed instructions on how to return these parts.
You’ll need to keep the rest of the product until the refund has been issued. Once you’ve received the refund, the rest of the product can be disposed of.
What does Fisher-Price say?
Fisher-Price has said that there is nothing more important than the safety of its products and the trust families put in them, and it is because of that commitment to safety it’s voluntarily recalling the product even though there have been no reports of serious injuries or deaths in respect of it.
