Rachel Bilson updates fans after awkward Rami Malek story: ‘We’re all good’

Rachel Bilson has said she and Rami Malek are “totally fine now” following a conflict over the publication of an “unflattering” high school yearbook photo.

In March, Bilson, who starred in The OC, recalled being contacted by the Bohemian Rhapsody star after she posted an old photo of Malek on her Instagram.

The pair were once friends who attended the same high school, California’s Notre Dame, and the photo in question showed Malek sporting a gold chain. Bilson told a podcast that Malek sent her a private message a week after the photo was posted, asking her to take it down.

“It wasn’t like, ‘Hey! How are you?’ It was straight to: ‘I would really appreciate if you take that down. I’m a really private person,’” she claimed.

She continued: “I was like, I guess I should’ve found something more flattering. But I removed it and I even wrote to him a really nice message: ‘I’m so sorry. Go get the Oscar! You’re doing amazing.’ And I never hear anything back, which is fine. But I was super bummed because he was always so nice and we were good friends.”
