Slough Trading Estate plans revealed

Plans for the regeneration of part of the industrial estate made famous as the location for TV comedy The Office have been revealed.

The new IQ Slough office, retail, conference centre and hotel development will be completed over 20 years.

The scheme on Slough Trading Estate by developers SEGRO is expected to create about 4,000 jobs.

A company spokesman said it would ensure Slough would “thrive as a business destination”.

The Slough Trading Estate was the first purpose-built business park in Europe when it was created in the 1920s.

It was the setting for Ricky Gervais’ and Stephen Merchant’s hit TV comedy.
