SNOW WAY Full Moon February 2022 – Incredible Snow Moon visible in UK sky TONIGHT; what time and how to see it

S

A SNOW Moon will light up the sky tonight with stargazers around the world catching a glimpse of the incredible phenomenon.

A Full moon happens when the moon is situated on the opposite side of Earth to the Sun, which means its face can be fully illuminated.

The Snow moon is the second to take place in 2022.

The Moon names come from the Old Farmer’s Almanac.

And that borrows from old Native American and colonial American names passed on through tradition.

The names would represent the time of year, and would help people track the seasons.

Nearby dwarf planet ‘could support alien life’
A NEARBY dwarf planet may contain brines that could one day make it habitable for life, according to a new study.

The study titled Porosity-filling Metamorphic Brines Explain Ceres’s Low Mantle Density was recently published in The Planetary Science Journal.

The research is led by a team of NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory scientists and is primarily focused on Ceres – a dwarf planet in the asteroid belt between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter.

The team suggests in the study that shortly after Ceres was formed about 4.5 billion years ago, its internal “mildly-warm” temperature caused its mantel to releases fluids “as a consequence of low-grade thermal metamorphism.”

In addition to the fluids, the researchers believe that rock particles, brines, and organic matter were also released – a mixture known as “metamorphic fluids.”

The meaning behind the Snow Moon
Spiritually, there’s a lot to look forward to with the incoming Snow Moon. The full Snow Moon will be in Leo, which will make everyone feel confident, and inspire people to put their best foot forward, regardless of the situation.

Love planets Venus and Mars are also expected to connect in Capricorn that same night, which means love and passion will definitely be in the air.

To get the most out of a full Snow Moon in Leo, we’d say take that chance, and summon courage… if the timing’s right. Make bold moves, whether it’s pursuing new passions, be a new project, or a new romantic interest.

Why are some full moon’s in the middle of the day?

You may have wondered why you can often see the moon in the middle of the day, particularly when it is full.

It turns out the answer is actually incredibly simple: the moon and stars are always somewhere in the sky, we just can’t always see them.

The sun is so bright during the day that it can “drown” out the light from the moon and stars, but on darker days the moon can shine.

But the reason it is not always visible during the day is all down to the positioning of the moon and whether it is reflecting enough light to be as bright, or brighter, than the blue sky.

After a full moon, when Earth is roughly between the sun and the moon and appears illuminated, comes a morning moon.

How many supermoons are there in 2022?

In 2022, there will be a supermoon on June 14 and on July 13.

A Supermoon appears when it is at its closest point to Earth and therefore at its brightest, the next one will appear in September.

A Super Moon is a combination of two different astronomical effects.

It’s when a new or full Moon coincides with a perigee – the Moon’s closest point to Earth in its monthly orbit.

A Moon has to come within 90% of its closest approach to Earth to be formally defined as a Super Moon.
