Star Wars Lego Death Star unveiled at resort

S

A Death Star made out of half a million bricks of Lego has been unveiled.

The Imperial base, which looks like a moon, but is in fact a space station, has been realised as a 2.4m (7.9ft) wide, 3m (9.8ft) high 860kg model.

It has been joined by 16 Alliance ships including Luke Skywalker’s X-wing fighter, in a recreation of the Battle of Yavin scene from the end of A New Hope.

A timelapse video shows 15 model makers building and installing the space station over three months.
