On February 8, 2023, the UK government announced it will start charging visitors a £10 (about $12.50) Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) fee beginning in 2024. The fee will apply to all visa-free visitors except British and Irish citizens. The ETA will be required for all short-term visits to the UK, including tourism, business, and study.
