Teenager bailed after baby’s remains found in Sheerness


A teenage girl arrested after the remains of a newborn baby were found in a Kent street has been released on bail.

The infant’s body was found in Broadway, Sheerness, at about 12:50 GMT on Saturday.

The remnants of a small fire were also found at the scene, Kent Police said.

The girl, who was arrested on Wednesday afternoon, has been bailed until 18 May, A police spokesman said she was continuing to receive support.
