This month’s free games for PlayStation Plus

Every month Sony reveals its free game lineup for the PS4, PS3 and PS Vita and it’s just lifted the lid on its selection for May 2017.

From May 2, PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to access the new games from the store on their consoles.

Tales from the Borderlands – PS4

This five-part series from Telltale Games is set in the world of Pandora and follows the events of Borderlands 2 as Rhys and Fiona team up to recover a fortune they both lay claim to.
Alienation – PS4

While North America gets adventure game Abzu, European gamers are getting role-playing shooter Alienation for free instead, in which players must defend themselves from an alien invasion of Earth.
Blood Knights – PS3

This role-playing game for the PS3 pitches a vampire and vampire hunter together in a quest to recover a vital artefact that will assist them in a fight against evil forces.
Port Royale 3: Pirates and Merchants – PS3

The third chapter in the business sim saga, Port Royale 3 lets the player follow their chosen path, whether that’s a respectable trader in the Caribbean or a bloodthirsty pirate.
Laser Disco Defenders – PS Vita (Cross-buy with PS4)

A more recent release than some of the games in the list, this musical game feature a 1970s disco soundtrack and sees the Defenders in a quest to stop the evil Lord Monotone from forcing the entire galaxy to dance to his, and only his, tune.
Type: Rider – PS Vita (Cross Buy on PS4)

This bizarre typography-based puzzle adventure game, sees the player uncovering the history of type and fonts from the rock paintings of prehistoric times to modern pixel art, solving riddles along the way.
