UK and other countries see Apple raise iCloud prices

Apple has hiked the prices of its iCloud storage plans in the UK and other countries. The price increases went into effect on June 28, 2023.

In the UK, the following price increases have been made:

  • 50GB plan: from £0.79 per month to £0.99 per month (25% increase)
  •  200GB plan: from £2.49 per month to £2.99 per month (20% increase)
  •  2TB plan: from £6.99 per month to £8.99 per month (27% increase)

The price increases have also been made in the following countries:

  • Poland
  •  Romania
  •  Saudi Arabia
  •  South Africa
  •  Sweden
  •  Tanzania
  •  Turkey
  •  United Arab Emirates

Apple has not provided any explanation for the price increases. However, they may be due to fluctuations in foreign currency exchange rates.

If you are an iCloud user in the UK or another affected country, you will be automatically charged the new prices starting with your next billing cycle. If you are unhappy with the price increases, you can cancel your iCloud subscription. However, you will lose access to any data stored in iCloud.

Here are some alternative cloud storage providers that you may want to consider:

  • Google Drive
  •  Dropbox
  •  Microsoft OneDrive
  •  Amazon Photos
  •  Sync.com

These providers offer a variety of storage plans and pricing options. You can compare their programs and prices to find the best one for your needs.
