Christmas Jumper Day takes place this year on 10th December. On this day, children, teachers, and staff all wear their Christmas jumpers to raise awareness of the Save the Children campaign to help children around the world and donate £2 to the cause.

WHAT IS CHRISTMAS JUMPER DAY?

Christmas Jumper Day is a Keep the Children annual affair that raises money for children in the UK and across the world. Every December, millions of individuals across the United Kingdom (and beyond!) put on a festive outfit at their workplace, school, or with friends and donate to help give children the magical future they deserve.

Christmas Jumper Day is an annual fundraising campaign in the UK and Ireland organized by the charity Save the Children in the UK. On a typical day in December, people are encouraged to make the world better with a sweater and raise funds for Save the Children by sporting a Christmas jumper and making a recommended contribution of £2 (€2) or £1 (€1) for school children.

In 2021, Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day is Thursday,8 December. All contributions made on Christmas Jumpers Day, between 1st December 2021 and 1st March 2022 doubled, up to £2 million, thanks to the UK government Aid Match funding.

To accept part people can write their workplace, school, or group of family and friends on the Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day website.

In current years, Save the Children has been eager to ensure Christmas Jumper Day is as sustainable as possible.

Those bearing part can wear a Christmas jumper they already own, shop for a vintage jumper, trim an existing jumper with festive decorations, or even knit their own.

Christmas Jumper Day is famous for schools and workplaces. Groups may take part in additional fundraising activities on the day, as well as make donations.

Save the Children established their Christmas Jumper Day in 2012 on Friday, 14 December, and have back introduced £30 million to help children around the world.

Celebrities who have sponsored the event in the past include TV presenter Holly Willoughby, actor Helen Mirren, model Kate Moss, actor Luke Evans, and Olympian Mo Farah.

Since 2012, millions of somebody like you have put on their flashiest jumpers for one day in December, donated £2 to Save the Children, and helped to make the world better for children in the UK and the world.

Thursday, 8th December 2022 will be Save the Children’s 11th Christmas Jumper Day!

And guess what, it going to be our best yet. This year, the UK government promised to give the same amount as you give. Every moment you give £2 to Save the Children, they give £2.
