Tyler Hadden is a convicted murderer charged with killing his parents Blake Hadley and Mary-Jo Hadley on 16th July 2011.
Tyler is facing a lifetime prison with a slight possibility of parole in Okeechobee Correctional Institution.
His age was only 17 when the incident occurred. The killing happened in the family residence at Port St. Lucie, a small town in Florida.

Tyler Hadden’s parents were a happy couple and lived their life normally. The family consisted of four, including Tyler’s brother.
Two weeks prior to killing his parents, Tyler shared among a few of his friends that he was going to throw a massive party after killing them.
On the day of the incident, some of his friends even bet with him and encouraged him to do it rather than bluffing.
Before the incident, the family had also gone on a family trip along with their relatives. Some relatives said that Tyler was continuously killing insects with a stick intentionally, which is not healthy behavior for a 17-year-old.
Tyler killed his parents somewhere around 5 pm after they returned home and ran some errands.
His mother was working on the computer when Tyler came up from behind with a sledgehammer. He also took three MDMA pills before doing it. He beat his mother to death.
Mary-Jo screamed for her life which alerted Tyler’s father. Blake quickly came down from the bedroom to find her dead wife. Tyler and Blake looked at each other for a brief amount of time before he started beating his father too with the same sledgehammer.
Hadden told his friends that he had to spend several hours cleaning up the blood before the party. Sometime around evening, he picked up some of his friends and withdrew $5,000 from an ATM for the party. There were approximately 60 people in the house party.
Tyler even showed few friends the dead body which was hidden in the master bedroom. The word spread quickly and somebody tipped off the police as well. Tyler was arrested early in the morning after the party.
Why Did Tyler Hadden Kill His Parents?
There isn’t any exact reason for the murder. But, there were numerous reasons that triggered Tyler Hadden, who was suffering from depression and had lots of mental health problems.
Tyler was a depressed kid from the age of 3 and was on anti-depressants as well later on in his life.
At the age of 10, he even attempted suicide jokingly while with his friend Matt. He was a desolate kid and didn’t have many friends.
Tyler eventually turned out to be a spoiled and dark teen. He continuously made jokes about killing his parents. He started getting into fights, drugs, bunking schools and was not very good academically as well.
But, his mother ignored all the claims even when he was caught red-handed by his neighbours. Mary-Jo didn’t really accept her son’s condition and ignored most of his acts. This resulted in Tyler resenting his mother for not fulfilling his deeds.
