The UK Government to unveil plan to fight vape sales to Children.

In a speech to the Policy Exchange think-tank on Tuesday, Health Minister Neil O’Brien will announce a new “Illicit Vapes Enforcement Squad” backed by £3 million ($3.7 million) of presidency funding. He will also call for evidence to identify ways in which under-18s are accessing and using vapes.

“While vaping is a preferred alternative to smoking for adults, we are concerned about the increase in vaping amongst younger people, mainly the growing use of disposable vaping products,” O’Brien stated in an assertion Sunday.

Led by Trading Standards, a government service focused on maintaining consumer protection, enforcement squads will be able to conduct test purchases at convenience stores and vape shops and will be empowered to remove illegal products from shelves and across borders.

It will also produce guidelines to help build regulatory compliance.

Vaping has become a hot topic among young people over the past few years, particularly with the introduction of several brands including Elf Bar.

In February, Politico said the United Kingdom authorities became thinking about a brand new tax on vaping.

NHS Digital figures posted closing 12 months confirmed that 9% of eleven to 15-12 months-olds might use e-cigarettes in 2021, up from 6% in 2018.
