Reportedly, Callum Ryan decided to travel to Italy after noticing that the delivery fee on a Domino’s Pizza order in the U.K. was way too high. He took challenges to see Italy and have pizza while keeping more money. And guess what? He recorded it all on Instagram.
“I set myself a challenge to pass to Italy and buy myself a pizza cheaper than the price of Domino’s,” he said in the video. He explained that his desired medium pizza at Domino’s costs around 19 British pounds and 99 cents (approx. Rs. 2000) without the delivery charge. Hence, he liked to check if he could make the trip (to Milan) within that tight budget.
In the next portion of the video, Ryan explains he bought a last-minute flight ticket for just eight pounds. He then went to a pizzeria in Milan, where he pizza (along with table service) for 11 Euros or about 9 Pounds 72 cents. In a clip viewed over 2.2 million times, influencer Callum Ryan took spectators on a journey from his home in the U.K. to Milan, Italy, to prove that he could get to Italy and back with a slice of pizza for less than the price of a medium size Domino’s pizza that usually goes for £19.99 (or about $24.11)
Viewers were stunned watching him snag an £8 flight from London to Milan and head straight to a pizza place he said was recommended to him on TikTok.
There he received a complimentary glass of Prosecco and ordered a Margherita pizza.
The results? The pizza was €8.50 with €2.50 for table service bringing the total to €11, or £9.72. Add that to the £8 flight; the capacity is £17.72 or about $21.37.
“We did it! We flew to Italy for pizza for less than the price of a Domino’s,” Ryan said excitedly.
Though undoubtedly impressive, many viewers in the comment section questioned if this was legitimate, as Ryan didn’t factor in the price of a cab or flight home.
“Bro, how you get to the airport, how you get to the pizza place from the airport, where you are staying,” one pointed out.
“Cost of bringing to the airport, cost of getting from the airport to the pizza place, cost of the flight home,” another questioned.
Even negotiate airline Ryanair, the airline that the TikToker used for his flight, had to join in on the fun by commenting, “We still have £8 flights?!?”
“You do,” Ryan jokingly replied.
